Contact lens wear can be an inflammatory influence under normal circumstances, but an alreadysensitized cornea can show rebound inflammation if proper steps aren’t taken. It is imperative to use the immunosuppressive benefits of steroids with a slow taper as contact lens wear is resumed, or the patient will suffer setbacks and require multiple office visits. We typically restart limited contact lens wear when the rehabilitating cornea can tolerate a limited steroid dosage of once to twice daily.

Thanks for your immediate reply, I really appreciate it. I just want to inform you all the details and procedures that was already done last month. So last september I’ve undergone through MRI, and the result was enlargement of the medial rectus muscles on the left side of the eye. Then the doctor advise me to take prednisone for 40 days. I started from 80mg and now I’m already at 10mg. And the doctor repeat the MRI again to make sure if the inflammation was reduce. So from the first MRI, the result was after taking prednisone the 2nd MRI was and the normal size is , so no changes at all. So the doctor advise me again to do another treatment which is radiation, chemo or immunosuppressant don’t want to do those treatment that the doctor advise me to do and I prefer to treat this kind of disease naturally, my eyes is still swelling due to the inflammation of the medial rectus muscle of the eye which pushes my eyes so it started come out. The opthalmologist advise me to stop the steroids and do the other treatment, please help me which natural alternative or herbal should I help me..

My puppy (chihuahua Yorkie mix)started scratching his eyes when he was about 4 months old. I took him to the vet and he scraped him and said it was demodectic mites. He was treated with bravecto to kill the mites and a antihistamine because of his constant scratching. In about 2 weeks he started to re grow the hair around his eyes. He was re scraped 2 weeks later and showed no mites. A few weeks after that he was back at the vet for scratching and losing hair again. He was again scraped and since it had been 2 months since the first bravecto treatment he gave him another bravecto pill and an antibiotic because of infection and a stronger antihistamine. It has been 2 and a half weeks and his eyes are worse and his scratching has not stopped. I am thinking that the cause is not at all demodectic mites. Could it simply be allergies? Poor baby is always scratching and now starting to make the skin around his eyes raw.
